SCBA calls for white ribbons, one-minute silence on October 13 in solidarity with lawyers allegedly mistreated by Delhi police

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Executive Committee has called upon advocates and its members to wear white ribbons pinned to their coats and assemble in front of the Gandhi statue on October 13 to express solidarity with lawyers allegedly mistreated by the Delhi Police during the October 10 protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

According to the decision taken by the Executive Committee, members of the Bar will gather at 1:15 PM on Tuesday, October 13, and observe a one-minute silence as a mark of solidarity with the affected advocates.

The association has requested all members to participate in the observance by wearing white ribbons on their coats.

The decision follows the protests held in Delhi on October 10 against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, during which allegations of police mistreatment of advocates emerged.

The SCBA’s proposed observance is intended to express solidarity with the lawyers concerned and highlight the concerns raised over their treatment during the protests.

By organising the gathering and one-minute silence, the association has called upon members of the Bar to collectively demonstrate support for their colleagues.
