Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Sunday led the Supreme Court in paying homage to the father of Indian Constitution, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, on his anniversary.
CJI Chandrachud garlanded the statue of Ambedkar on the occasion. His Singaporean counterpart Justice Sundaresh Menon, who was present on the occasion, along with other judges of the Supreme Court, paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion, CJI Chandrachud said that it was a very speacial day for the country, adding that the principles of Dr. Ambedkar were relevant today as well.
CJI Chandrachud gave a tour of the Supreme Court of India to Justice Menon and other delegates from Singapore, apprising them about the functioning of the Apex Court.
