Former BJP MP Jaya Prada surrenders in Rampur court

Former BJP MP and actor Jaya Prada on Monday surrendered in Rampur court, days after she was considered ‘absconding’ in two cases related to the violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

The MP/MLA court in Rampur had issued CrPC order 82 for non-appearance of the yesteryear actor on February 27.

Earlier, the court had issuing non-bailable warrant (NBW) several times against Jatya Prada.

As per Senior Prosecution Officer Amarnath Tiwari, two cases had been registered against the BJP leader at Kemri police station and Swar police station over alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct during the 2019 elections.
