The Supreme Court Collegium, at its meeting convened on September 10, 2026, approved the proposal for the elevation of Judicial Officer Shri Yash Paul Bourney as a Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The Collegium considered the proposal concerning his appointment to the constitutional office of a High Court Judge and has accorded its approval for his elevation.
The recommendation will now be forwarded to the Union Government for further processing in accordance with the established procedure governing appointments to the High Courts.
The proposed elevation is part of the ongoing exercise to augment the judicial strength of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and ensure the effective administration and timely adjudication of cases.
